Fulham’s move for Flamengo forward Rodrigo Muniz is close to completion, according to a report this morning from Brazilian journalist Vene Casagrande.
The striker has been told that his current club are now happy – having become concerned that official confirmation of Fulham’s intention to buy the 20 year-old had not arrived – and that he should prepare for the first part of his medical when he finishes his period of quarantine. Muniz contracting coronavirus added a further complication to what had already been protracted negotiations between the parties, but Casagrande writes that ‘finally this soap opera is going to end’.
Fulham and Flamengo reached a formal agreement over a revised transfer fee yesterday and it seems as though Marco Silva will soon have the man he had identified as his number one target to supplement his striking resources.
I do hope that we are going to see an end of us (Tony Khan I presume) trying to pay less for a player after making a deal with their club. I would be insulted by this in their place and this sort of malarkey could lose us the manager’s number one target. Although Marco Silva was not on my list, he is making some exciting signings, whilst still using our youngsters. It would be a shame if he walked away because of owners playing poker.
Nothing will change with the Khans Glen and not happy myself with their ‘ poker playing ‘ with transfers but playing devils advocate – is it such a bad thing that we are so prudent with the finances ? It sets a precedent so other clubs see we will not be held to ransom but yes we are going to lose out so mixed feelings . What amazes me is they appear so tight with transfer cash yet let players leave for peanuts – Johannsen being the latest example.
Glen how do you know were trying to pay less money? It may just be the structure of the deal. Fulham are close to FFP and want other players too so the big picture needs to be considered. You don’t know the facts but are very quick to jump to conclusions.
Literally had nothing to do with TK! It was because they accepted an offer from boro that was less than what we offered and we wanted to get the same price. Which seems fair enough especially as the lad had covid so we couldn’t progress it for 10 days anyway. The tony Kahn agenda needs to stop now. The guy has clearly had nothing to do with this window so far. He may be in post by name but his role has clearly changed.
Glen it’s not your money. It’s about time fans stopped complaining and criticising TK. We have one of the strongest squads in the Championship and great new manager. We should be looking forward to some stylish football and a championship winning season. Roll on Sunday.
OK Glenn, If you offer £10,000 on a car and just before you sign you find your neighbour had an offer of £8,000 accepted, wouldn’t you feel a bit pissed off? and if you still wanted the car wouldn’t you try to renegotiate the deal?
I agree it’s like a poker game but sadly that’s the face of football nowadays. Not a nice business to be in, very cut-throat, but the best “players” usually win through
If you read the original source of this story that’s actually linked in the article you will see that Fulham have not changed any fees, it’s exactly as they originally offered. The delay has nothing to do with the fee it’s more likely to do with Covid. All this talk of Fulham wanting to change the fee has come about by people spinning the story.
Look we have a very good owner who spends money for the club and all I hear is pathetic so called Fulham fans moaning about Khan please get a life
I will say again !! If anybody knows of a multi billionaire that’s wishes to pump money into the loss making club, ( writing off debt for shares) spend £100 million on a new stand and forming a formidable squad to try for an immediate return to the promised land, please give me their phone number and I will ring them tonight.
In the absence of such information please tone down the abuse, sit back and let’s enjoy the coming season.
Well said Cliff, anyone that’s supported this club down the years should be pinching themselves right now. It ain’t gonna be perfect but it’s a darn sight better than it used to be ?
ALL Fulham fans should be bowing down to the Khans. They have already done so much for the club financially, a lot more than most owners would have done under similar circumstances. Did they make mistakes? Of course they did, like all other human beings on earth. Are they correcting the mistakes and doing their best for the club? I think so. So stop moaning and calling the Khans names. All successful people made a lot of mistakes before they got it right!!
You can bow down to the Khans as much as you want, Andreas, but I won’t be joining you. Fulham were an established Premier League club before they took over and, whilst Khan senior has invested serious amounts of money, he’s effectively thrown most of it away by allowing his son to play Football Manager at the club’s expense. Not only does he have no football experience – but he’s got three other jobs at the same time. Nowhere else would such an appointment be made or tolerated.
