Fulham’s trip to Tottenham tomorrow night could be postponed after the club recorded a number of positive tests for coronavirus, according to the Athletic.
The Premier League reported some eighteen positive tests for coronavirus this afternoon – the highest amount of positives in their testing regime since the pandemic began – and several Fulham staff have apparently tested positive for the virus. Fulham manager Scott Parker only returned to regular duties yesterday having completed a ten day period of self-isolation after a member of his household had tested positive for coronavirus.
If tomorrow night’s fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is postponed, it would be the third game this season to be disrupted by the pandemic. Newcastle saw their match at Aston Villa earlier in December postponed as they battled to contain an outbreak at their training facility that Steve Bruce’s side are still dealing with now, while Manchester City’s trip to Everton yesterday was called off hours before kick off after a second outbreak within the City squad.
