Seeking cover after a succession of midfield injuries, Scott Parker signed his brother-in-law, the experienced Harry Arter, on loan from Bournemouth in August 2019. Arter was a tenacious tackler and was sent off at Cardiff City early in the season, but returned to score a few crucial goals – including a winner at promotion rivals Nottingham Forest – as the Whites ultimately went up via the Championship play-offs.
