Forward thinking full-back Scott Malone made a big impression in his only season at Craven Cottage as the Whites agonisingly lost in the Championship play-off semi-finals to Reading. He became an attacking outlet in Slavisa Jokanovic’s stylish side almost as soon as he had arrived in SW6 from Cardiff in a swap deal with Jazz Richards and made an encouraging debut in the home win over Newcastle that kicked off the season. An accurate crosser with his lethal left foot, Malone was an also a regular source of goals – scoring six times in 42 appearances – and striking up a fine understanding with teenage winger Ryan Sessegon down the left flank. Malone left for Huddersfield Town in July 2017 to play Premier League football – and is now a first team regular at Millwall.
