Kit Symons hopes Moussa Dembele will agree a new deal at Fulham but is not fully confident that it will happen.
The striker, who scored twice against Bristol City, is out of contract at the end of the season and the club are keen to tie him down to a four-year deal.
And Symons remains hopeful that a deal can be done and keep him away from Premier League suitors like Everton.
He said: “Contract talks are taking place and we want him to sign. It’s the right football club for him to develop. It’s down to Moussa, his agent and advisers for him to sign it. He gets a kick up the backside at times and a cuddle when it’s needed. I’m very hopeful he’ll sign and I think he should do. I’m not sure if he’ll sign. I’m very hopeful though.”
