Steve Sidwell initially signed for Fulham on a short-term deal in January 2011, having rejected interest from Wolves. He impressed manager Mark Hughes with industrious displays in midfield and was rewarded with a three-year contract after scoring twice – against Arsenal and Liverpool – in fourteen games. He went on to make 115 appearances in three years at Craven Cottage, with his most productive period in front of goal coming during Rene Meulensteen’s brief period at the helm. Sidwell left Fulham in the summer of 2014 following the club’s relegation – and was publicly critical of then-manager Felix Magath. He won promotion back to the top flight immediately with Brighton and Hove Albion and is now a regular pundit with BT Sport.
