Darren Bent spent a disappointing season on loan at Fulham from Aston Villa in 2013/2014 as the Whites were eventually relegated from the top flight. He never rekindled the form he found under Martin Jol at Tottenham earlier in his career, scoring six goals in 30 appearances – the most notable of which was a stoppage-time equaliser at Old Trafford. The England international showed his true feelings towards the Fulham fans when scoring for Brighton against the Whites the following year and celebrating in front of the travelling support. The gesture angered the Fulham players and Kit Symons side came back to win 2-1.
