Philippe Senderos signed for Fulham on a free transfer in June 2010 following a successful World Cup with Switzerland. He tore his achilles tendon in one of his first training sessions at Motspur Park and didn’t make his debut until the following April during a 3-0 win at Sunderland. He operated largely as a back up to Brede Hangeland and Aaron Hughes at the heart of the Fulham defence, making 68 appearances, before joining Valencia right at the end of deadline day in January 2014. Senderos is now director of football at his first club, Servette.
