Brede Hangeland is on the brink of signing a new Fulham contract, according to Goal.

The London club have been desperate to try their Norwegian international down to a long-term deal and believe he will commit his future to the club before the new year. Hangeland has told Fulham that he will sign a two-year contract extension and is not interested in a long-rumoured move to Arsenal or any other club as his family are settled in west London.

The 31 year-old, who currently earns around £40,000 a week, is due to move into Fulham’s top bracket of earners alongside the likes of Mark Schwarzer and Dimitar Berbatov.
