There’s a terrific interview with Stephen Kelly in today’s Irish Post looking ahead to his chances with Ireland at Euro 2012 this summer.
It includes a few great stories of how a young Kelly was always Paul McGrath during the playground kickabouts, how he made his way as a youth international with Ireland, the role his supportive father still plays in his football career and how the Kellys can glide around London almost unnoticed. You suspect that it was written before the Christmas period as it hints at the full-back’s unspoken frustration at not being in the Fulham team.
Poorly written article, but Stephen Kelly is really impressing me, keep it up Kelly!
Kelly has been fantastic of late, he has really lit up the right side and created another attacking option, exactly what I like to see from a full back. He made some great blocks last night at Goodison.
