On Fulham’s books since he was eleven, Robert Milsom made just two senior appearances for the club. The versatile midfielder made his debut as a substitute in a 2008 League Cup defeat at Burnley and then played in the Premier League for the first team in a 3-0 defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford. Milsom’s professionalism and technical ability made him a favourite of Roy Hodgson but he was bedevilled by injuries, including a knee problem that saw him miss the whole of the 2008/09 campaign. He spent time on loan at Brentford, Southend United and Finnish club TPS before signing for Aberdeen on a free transfer in January 2011.
