Fulham have confirmed the signing of PSV Eindhoven left back Carlos Salcido this afternoon.
The Mexican international, who has signed a three year contract, said: ‘It has always been an ambition to play in England in the Premier League and it’s great that I have been able to make the move to Fulham today. The season has already started, so I know that I need to work hard with the Manager and the team to make sure that I settle quickly, and that I can help the team to do well’.
Salcido, who starred for Mexico during the recent World Cup, is expected to replace Paul Konchesky, who is reportedly close to completing a £3.5m move to Liverpool. Fulham manager Mark Hughes says that he remains hopeful of making further signings before the transfer window closes.
It pains me a bit to say this, but…welcome to the Cottage Carlos Salcido. That felt a little bit dirty but not as dirty as when I welcomed Blanco to the Fire.
