On the whole I think Craven Cottage is a friendly place for our opponents to visit – apart from the odd song about a boy in blue or Jimmy Bullard, we’re a reasonably welcoming bunch. Certainly our victory in the Behaviour of the Public’s league (again), which includes points for “Respect Against Opponents”, would support this view.
BUT
What if this latest rumour about Diego Forlan were to be true? He’s surely Public Enemy No. 1 so it’d be interesting to see the kind of reception he’d face. Not to mention who he’d be playing for – after the two hard-fought ties in the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup, I can’t imagine Harry and his Hotspurs are up there on the Christmas card list either. There’s nothing like a bit of banter to add to the atmosphere at the Cottage though, is there?
Diego Forlan will be a player who many Fulham fans will now officially hate. But, like you say, its part of the game and makes it more fun 🙂
I hope he doesn’t have the chance to score past us again though.
I didn’t get the feeling of any ill will towards Forlan and I believe he behaved very considerately towards the Fulham players at the final Final Whistle. I’d be very disappointed to see him targeted.
And why do Spurs need another striker?
Its ok because if they get Forlan then maybe we will get Pav!!
Nothing but admiration for Forlan. He’s a class act on and off the field.
Only reason to hope we don’t see him play against us next season is that he’ll probably score.
I have issues with many, many players who have visited the Cottage. I’ve got no bad feeling against Forlan. He had the good grace to shake our lads hands at the end of the final, unlike the others.
Oh golly, this was never intended as any kind of incitement!
