Interesting article on Sky Sports tonight says that Roman Pavlyuchenko wants out of Spurs in January. Last season Pav had a decent record at Spurs but only during the matches he played. He seemed very able to put the ball in the back of the net. My younger brother, a die hard Spurs fan, even had his name on the back of his shirt.
If Roy is interested then I reckon he might be a decent buy for Fulham and as he is down the pecking order at Spurs, we might get him for a bargain!
UPDATE: This story suggests we would be interested in taking him on loan.
Funny how families work isn’t it? There are lots of Spurs fans in my family too.
I rate Pavlyuchenko pretty highly too but the problem is he apparently doesn’t speak a lot of English. We might get him on the cheap, but I imagine he’d be keen to go back to Russia. The last I saw it was Zenit and Besiktas publicly making moves for him. I wonder how cheap we’d be able to get him for, if he’d want to come and if he would be Roy’s first choice.
I saw a 10Million price tag mentioned. Seems ridiculous price if that’s pounds but I doubt Spurs would let him go for less the £5Mill.
Wel it was great last season when Fulham beat Spurs at the Cottage. My Dad and I are for Fulham and my two brothers are Spurs fans so its a real big deal at my house when they play each other 🙂
I had be glad to see Pavlyuchenko in a Fulham Shirt!
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go to Spain or Russia. At the same time, I think he would be a great pickup (for the right price, play your cards right Whites).
A healthy loan offer with a buy option would be ideal in my opinion.
I saw an article, just this morning, stating that he’d be keen to go to Anfield on a loan deal. Benitez, also, seems to like this idea since they have no transfer fund to speak of. Pavy could be effective in an area where they have need, right now, and he gets his games to be available for national team selection.
