I hadn’t realised quite how good our home record has been recently against Bolton. We haven’t lost in a ‘home’ game against Wanderers since we returned to the top flight – the only failure to pick up three points coming during a dire home performance at the start of the 2006/07 when we were rescued by an injury-time penalty from Jimmy Bullard.

We’ve scored against Bolton in every home meeting dating back to December 1990 – so perhaps that’s history way of telling us the boys might fire blanks this afternoon. Gary Megson’s side have been so poor of late that you feel the only way is up for them. The Whites are at the other end of the form table, with only the other team in Fulham and Arsenal having amassed more points from their past six games.
