ulham defender Dean Leacock will not be joining Swansea after the surprise collapse of his transfer on Thursday.

Swansea trumpeted the 22-year-old’s capture as a new club record last week, saying he had signed for £375,000 on a three-year contract.

A Swansea statement read: “Leacock’s move has fallen through after the two clubs and the player failed to agree all relevant terms of the contract.”

Swansea boss Kenny Jackett said he was disappointed the transfer was off.

“Over the last few days we’ve had plenty of ‘tooing and froing’, but this morning we’ve had to make a decision,” Jackett said. “Dean Leacock is a very good player, he’s one that we’ve pursued and I’ve known about for quite some time. He is, in my opinion, a quality player but at the moment this deal is off.”
