Diligent defender Liam Fontaine was capped by England at under-16 and under-17 level as he came through the ranks at Motspur Park. He gained experience in senior football on loan at Yeovil before making his senior debut in an action-packed 3-3 draw at Southampton in January 2005. Fontaine only made one further first-team appearance for Fulham before joining Bristol City in 2006 after a successful loan spell at Ashton Gate. He has enjoyed considerable success north of the border in the latter part of his career winning the Scottish Championship and Scottish Cup with Hibernian and the Championship again as well as the Scottish Challenge Cup with Ross County. He is now playing for Edinburgh City.
