A promising member of Fulham’s academy, Elvis Hammond made his senior debut under Jean Tigana in a League Cup defeat at the hands of Chesterfield in September 2000. The Ghana international looked to have made his breakthrough when he made ten appearances in the second half of the 2002/03 season, helping the Whites avoid relegation once Chris Coleman had taken over from Jean Tigana. Hammond suffered an injury that halted his progress and never got another chance in the senior set-up, being sold to Leicester City in August 2005 following a successful loan spell with the Foxes. He played for Cheltenham and then several non-league clubs, before being jailed for his part in an international money-laundering scheme in 2011.
