Fulham have taken the Sporting Lisbon defender Rui Jorge on trial during their pre-season tour of Austria.
Chris Coleman is keen to add defensive reinforcements over the course of the summer and has identified left back as a problem position in need of strengthening. Jorge, a 32 year-old Portuguese international, comes with significant pedigree having represented his country at both the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2004, where Portugal reached the final. He was also part of the Sporting Lisbon side that reached the UEFA Cup final in May.
Jorge is expected to feature in Fulham’s first pre-season friendly against Austrian outfit on Monday night.
