Malik Buari was a regular in Fulham’s academy sides after the millennium and made five consecutive appearances when injuries to senior players stretched Chris Coleman’s resources at the start of the 2003/04 season. The versatile midfielder didn’t make another first-team appearance before being released in the summer of 2005, becoming one of the inaugural overseas signings for the New Zealand Knights under his former Fulham youth coach Paul Nevin as they were introduced to the A-League.
