Leeds United are ready to make Mark Crossley their first-choice goalkeeper by offering Fulham £200,000.
The Elland Road side have needed a new goalkeeper following Paul Robinson’s sale to Tottenham Hotspur in May.
With target Steve Simonsen choosing to leave Everton for Stoke last week, Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell is keen to sign the experienced Crossley.
The 35-year-old Welsh international has been second choice at Fulham behind Dutch star Edwin van der Sar.
Although rookie keeper Scott Carson made his Premiership debut last season, Blackwell has decided he needs a more mature stopper at No 1.
