Edwin van der Sar has been named as Fulham’s player of the season after topping the poll of votes from the club’s supporters.
The Dutch goalkeeper was in sensational form as Chris Coleman’s side finished ninth in the top flight – a new club record. Van der sar kept seventeen clean sheets in 49 games, conceding 49 goals in all competitions, and was presented with his richly deserved award during Sunday’s end of season dinner at the London Hilton Metropole Hotel.
Promising full back Adam Green was voted as the club’s young player of the year, having broken into the first team with a string of excellent displays, and Junichi Inamoto’s strike at Old Trafford during Fulham’s fabulous 3-1 win over Manchester United was voted goal of the season.
