Bill and Andy Muddyman, longstanding Fulham directors, have left the club’s board after chairman Mohamed Al-Fayed purchased the majority of their remaining stake in the club.
Al-Fayed is quoted in a Fulham statement on the club’s website this afternoon as saying:
“This acquisition has cost me a substantial sum of money. I would have preferred to invest it directly in players, the stadium and the Club generally. Unfortunately, this was not achievable. However, the acquisition and my restructuring of the Board does provide the right foundations for a successful future and to achieve the dreams which I and the fans share”.
