Chris Coleman has urged his side not to get ‘carried away’ with their sensational start to the season after Saturday’s 2-0 win at Blackburn Rovers.
The Fulham boss, widely predicted to be the first top flight manager to lose his job back in the summer, insists that the hard work is only just beginning at the start of a long, hard season.
“We can’t be getting carried away, saying we can push for Europe. We’ve got to keep as much distance from the bottom three or four as possible, so when it comes to March or April, we’re not in the shake-up. We were last year and it’s not a nice feeling. If we can keep playing like that then we should be okay.
We’re now winning games and getting results because we’re working hard. We’re a good team, we’ve got a lot of ability but we’ve recognised that we need to work hard before we can play.”
