Danish winger Bjarne Goldbaek joined Fulham from local rivals Chelsea having fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge for the bargain price of just £650,000. He quickly formed an outstanding right wing partnership with full-back Steve Finnan that proved pivotal to Fulham’s 2000-01 Division One title season. Goldbaek made just seventeen appearances the following year as the Whites tasted top flight football for the first time in more than three decades but made crucial contributions as the Cottagers reached the FA Cup semi-finals. He extended his contract for a further season and helped Fulham win the InterToto Cup but was released in 2003. After retiring, Goldbaek became a football agent and is now an acclaimed pundit on Eurosport.
