Fulham centre back Kit Symons has joined Crystal Palace for a fee of around £400,000.

The Welsh international signed a two-year contract at Selhurst Park and has become Trevor Francis’ first signing since taking over as Eagles boss. Symons, 30, had played only three times this season having lost his place at the heart of the Fulham defence to Zat Knight.

Symons spent three years at Craven Cottage, making 129 appearances and scoring twelve goals. He was a regular as the Whites won two promotions in three seasons and is now in line to face his former club Manchester City tomorrow afternoon having successfully passed his Palace medical.
