Fulham have been linked with a summer move for Everton’s teenage star Sean Doherty, according to the People.

The England youth international can leave Goodison Park can leave Goodison Park when his schoolboy contract expires at the end of the month and the Whites are interested in signing the 16 year-old. Doherty topped the scoring charts for England’s under-15 side last season and starred in an under-17 international against Italy last week.

The Premiership new boys have offered Doherty a professional contract and would only have to pay a nominal fee should the talented youngster opt to make the move to Craven Cottage. The development has caused consternation on Merseyside as Everton’s head of youth recruitment is Doherty’s father, Mick.

The youngster would be a big loss for the Toffees as he is widely considered the hottest homegrown talent that the club have produced since Francis Jeffers, who has also been heavily linked with a move away this summer.
