Fulham have signed Southampton winger Luis Boa Morte on a season-long loan.
The Portuguese under 21 international, who moved to Southampton from Arsenal last season, has impressed Fulham manager Jean Tigana during a summer trial at Motspur Park after being recommended by Arsene Wenger. Boa Morte looked to have made an impression under Dave Jones at the Dell last year, scoring with a stunning strike at Watford, but was considered surplus to requirements by Glenn Hoddle when the former England manager took over on the south coast.
Boa Morte, who started his career with Sporting Lisbon, helped Arsenal win the double in his first year in England. The speedy wide man is Fulham’s third summer signing, joining Louis Saha and John Collins in Tigana’s new-look squad. He could make his first appearance for the Cottagers in Simon Morgan’s testimonial against Tottenham Hotspur at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night.
