Fulham have signed Dutch defender Gus Uhlenbeek on a free transfer.

The attack-minded right back, who can also operate on the right side of midfield, has left Portman Road after losing his place in George Burley’s starting line-up. Uhlenbeek, who came through the Ajax youth academy, made 114 appearances and scored four goals for Ipswich, who were beaten in the play-off semi-finals by Charlton Athletic in May.

The 27 year-old is ‘excited’ to work with Kevin Keegan at Craven Cottage and wants to gain promotion with the Whites this season.
