Fulham produced a fine first-half performance to keep their promotion push on track as they survived the sending off of Nick Cusack to win 2-0 at Scarborough.
The Whites went in front after a quarter of an hour when top scorer Mike Conroy headed home his eighteenth goal of the season from Paul Watson’s corner. Fulham doubled their lead two minutes before the break when a flowing move involving Watson and Simon Morgan fashioned an opening for Rob Scott, who drilled home from twelve yards.
Fulham were happy to take their foot off the gas in the second period, allowing Scarborough to enjoy more of the possession, and the visitors’ miserly defence was never seriously tested even after Cusack was controversially dismissed for dissent.
