Scottish midfielder John McGlashan joined Fulham from Millwall on loan in December 1992, making his debut 24 hours after signing against Rotherham United. He scored an equaliser at Blackpool to earn a draw for Don Mackay’s side at Bloomfield Road, but his loan was cancelled after six appearances as Cambridge United approached Millwall for his services. McGlashan, who later played at Wembley in the Football League Trophy final for Rotherham United and helped Dundee win promotion back to the Scottish top flight, sadly died aged 50 having suffered with Motor Neurone Disease.
