Goals from Gary Brazil and Kelly Haag meant that Fulham signed off the season with a win over Bradford City whilst the Craven Cottage crowd celebrated the delay in a mooted groundshare with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Fulham’s hopes of making the play-offs had fizzled out in the final weeks of the season meaning that Don Mackay’s men had little to play for. You wouldn’t have guessed by the purposeful way in which the Whites attacked from the outset with Julian Hails and Sean Farrell to the fore. Brazil turned home his fourteenth of the season from close range after good work from Kelly Haag, but the hosts rested on their laurels and were punished for some dozy defending when Steve Torpey lashed in an equaliser.

But Brazil drove his team-mates forward and played a key part in the winning goal. The former Sheffield United forward embarked on an outstanding individual run from the half way line, beating three Bantams defenders and crossing for Haag to guide home what proved to be the winner.
