Brian Talbot bagged a priceless equaliser for Fulham as the relegation-threatened hosts fought back to earn a point against AFC Bournemouth at Craven Cottage this afternoon.
The former Arsenal midfielder, now aged 37, is playing for the Whites for free having signed on a short-term deal earlier this month having been sacked as West Bromwich Albion manager following their FA Cup exit at the hands of Woking. Talbot fired home from close range after Gary Brazil’s low cross from the right caused a goalmouth scramble. A high-spirited Talbot told the press afterwards: “I’m enjoying playing and like to think I’m doing a good job. Getting the goal was a bonus – I’m absolutely deadly from four yards out.”
Bournemouth, still in with a chance of making the Third Division play-offs, had hit the front in the 57th minute when Welsh international Andy Jones tapped home a cross from Paul Wood.
