Chances proved to be at a premium as Bury and Fulham shared the points after a lacklustre goalless draw at Gigg Lane this afternoon.

The home side had more of the ball and created the best opportunities but found visiting goalkeeper Jim Stannard in fine form. The Fulham number one made good saves to deny Mark Patterson, Liam Robinson and Mark Hulme as he kept a rare clean sheet.

The visitors were less threatening in the final third but Gary Kelly did his hopes of an Italia ’90 call-up with the Republic of Ireland no harm by denying Clive Walker and Gordon Davies.
