Peter Scott stabbed home a late equaliser to rescue a point for Fulham at promotion-chasing Birmingham City this afternoon.

Ray Lewington named an unchanged side following the win over Shrewsbury Town and the Whites were well-drilled in defence and disciplined with the ball at their feet. All the perfect away display required was a goal as Fulham kept it tight and broke where they could with purpose. Their chance arrived seventeen minutes from time when Andy Sayer sprinted onto a lofted ball from Leo Donnellan but he skewed his shot horribly wide of goal from twelve yards out.

Blues punished that lack of ruthlessness almost immediately as Nigel Gleghorn headed home a fine cross from Scottish winger Dougie Bell to put the home side in front. But Fulham kept on plugging away and the outstanding Hughie Bell surged down the right flank to find an unmarked Scott with a clever cross – allowing the midfielder to steer a finish past Birmingham goalkeeper Martin Thomas.
