Colin Gordon’s second half equaliser maintained Fulham’s unbeaten home record by they made heavy weather of earning a point against Blackpool at Craven Cottage this afternoon.
Gordon forced the ball home after Clive Walker’s corner had caused consternation in the visiting defence to cancel out Andy Garner’s opener that had given Blackpool the lead just after the break against the run of play.
Ray Lewington’s side had the better of the early exchanges but Barry Sindall made brilliant saves to keep out a pair of powerful drives from Gary Barnett and Peter Scott. It was something of a surprise when the Tangerines went in front six minutes after the break as Tony Cunningham nodded a corner from John Deary back across goal for Garner to simply turn his sixth goal of the season past Jim Stannard.
