Jim Hicks spent three years at Craven Cottage having joined Fulham as part of the deal that saw Ray Houghton move to Oxford United. He was a regular in a struggling side during one of the most miserable parts of the club’s history and endeared himself to the fans with his committed displays at centre half. His only goal for the Whites was a venomous volley against Notts County in February 1987. Hicks went on to play in America, work for Millwall’s foundation and managed the Millwall Lionesses for a remarkable fifteen years, winning the FA Cup and League Cup double in 1997.
