Peter Kitchen struggled for form and fitness having been signed from Leyton Orient to help boost Fulham’s push for promotion from the Second Division. He scored six goals in 24 games but was hit by a succession of injuries in his second year at Craven Cottage and Bobby Campbell’s side were relegated to the third tier. Kitchen moved to Cardiff City for £100,000 in the summer of 1980.
