Scottish international Graham Leggat was a wonderful winger who became a firm fans favourite in his nine years at Craven Cottage. He signed for Fulham from Aberdeen in August 1958 and made an immediate impression, scoring in his first six games for the club. He helped Fulham into the top flight, scoring 22 goals in his first season, and he followed that up with another twenty the following year. Leggat scored eight hat-tricks in total for the club, scoring 23 goals in 1960-61 and played a key part in helping Fulham reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 1962.
He scored a hat trick inside three minutes during the famous 1963 Boxing Day demolition of Ipswich Town and topped the goalscoring charts once more in 1964 having hit fifteen goals in 25 appearances. He was a creator as well as a wonderful goalscorer and Vic Buckingham courted serious controversy when he sold the cult hero to Birmingham City for only £20,000 in December 1966. He settled in Canada, becoming a regular big match television commentator, until his death aged 81 in 2015.
