Roy Bentley joined Fulham from Chelsea in 1956 and was an instant hit, scoring fourteen goals in his first season at Craven Cottage. He regularly played at right half and centre back in 1958 and was outstanding in both of these positions. He was part of the Fulham side that reached the FA Cup semi-finals that year and helped the Whites reach the top flight again the following season. He made 158 appearances for Fulham, scoring 25 goals, before joining Queens Park Rangers in December 1960. He sadly died in April 2018.
