Former Brentford and Chelsea centre back Ron Greenwood made 42 appearances in just over a year at Craven Cottage. He retired and became a successful manager, winning the FA Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup with West Ham United and going on to manage his country. Greenwood sadly died of Alzheimer’s in February 2006.
