Centre forward John Doherty scored eight times in 91 appearances for Fulham between 1956 and 1962. Signed from Chelsea’s youth team on a free transfer, Doherty helped the Whites win promotion from the Second Division in 1958/1959 and was a particular favourite of manager Frank Osborne. He later won a league and cup double with South Coast United in Australia.
