Former Manchester United winger Charlie Mitten signed for Fulham in December 1951. He scored six goals in sixteen games but couldn’t prevent the Whites from being relegated from the top flight at the end of his first season. Mitten, branded the ‘Bogota brandit’ after he went and played in Colombia for a year, was a regular scorer for Fulham forging a fantastic understanding with a young Johnny Haynes.
