Blond-haired Bert Barrett was a wholehearted midfielder who made more than 400 appearances for Fulham between 1925 and 1937. He won a full England cap when the Whites are in the third tier and his tenacious tackling and precise passing helped Fulham win the Third Division South title in 1932 as well as reach the FA Cup semi-finals in 1936. He was a key part of the side that finished third in the Second Division in 1932 and was a reliable penalty taker. A bone fide Craven Cottage legend, Barrett retired after being released by Fulham in 1937 and later emigrated to South Africa, where he died in 1989.
