Fulham legend Len Oliver signed professional terms with Fulham in June 1924. He quickly became a regular in the first team as a reliable defender, capable of playing at centre back or right back as well as a defensive midfielder. Oliver captained the Whites for seven seasons and was prominent during Fulham’s fine run to the quarter finals of the FA Cup when they knocked out Everton and Liverpool before losing to Manchester United. He won an England cap despite playing in the Third Division, representing his country in a 5-1 win over Belgium in Brussels in May 1929, and starred as Fulham won the Third Division South in 1931/32. Oliver was an ever present as the Whites came close to a second successive promotion the following year.
He left Fulham to coach Cliftonville in July 1938 and was a physical trainer during the Second World War. He coached Arlesley Town and died in Letchworch aged 62.
