Goalkeeper George Taylor, a summer signing from Leytonstone in 1896, made his only first-team appearance for Fulham in a 6-1 drubbing by local rivals Brentford on the first day of the 1896/97 season. He was replaced in goal by Johnny May and made sporadic appearances for the reserves until leaving Craven Cottage in the spring of 1899.
