Here’s another reason to love Erik Nevland.

Not only is he supportive of Bobby Zamora, who is clearly going through a tough trot in front of goal, at a time when others are more than prepared to take a swipe at him but he insists he’s happy to be Fulham’s very own supersub.

If I score every time I come off the bench it’s all right.

I’m a footballer and want to play as much as possible, and in that perspective it’s disappointing. But we have two great strikers in Johnson and Zamora, so I have to be patient.

He’s also said he’s not in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s league, which is obviously true. But he can carve out a reputation to rival his compatriot’s if he continues to make such a dramatic impact from the bench over the course of his Fulham career.
