Fulham have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Mark Walton from Fakenham Town on a free transfer.

The 27 year-old, who starred as Norwich City reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 1992, was recommended to manager Micky Adams by a Fulham fan based in East Anglia and has been training with the Whites for the past two weeks. The Welsh custodian, who deputised for Bryan Gunn at Carrow Road, came through the Swansea youth system before playing for Luton Town, Colchester United, the Canaries, Wrexham, Dundee United and Bolton Wanderers.

He has a signed a one-year contract and will compete with Tony Lange to become Fulham’s number one.
