Marco Silva says that Fulham’s transfer approach is ‘out of my control’ after he tried to ensure the Whites bought in more signings over the course of the summer window.
The Portuguese head coach has left nobody in any doubt that he wanted top-flight quality through the door earlier this season and reiterated his belief that the current wait and see approach is harmful to the Whites’ prospects. Silva, who has hardly done any media outside of the Premier League media day, told the press:
“The time is coming to an end, but we don’t have other solution if (we’re) not doing it. Probably now, it’s already too late. Probably, (we) lost some of the players that we should have signed or tried more, but it’s what it is. If I’m going to complain or not, it’s not going to change anything, unfortunately for me, not for me, for the football club, that is the most important thing than myself. But it’s what it is. Let’s see what’s going to happen now. It’s a bit out of my control really. And I like to have the things under control and I don’t have no more (control).”

This is a pretty clear sign that he’s out the door, too. What a shame!
Um! Really hard to understand what exactly is going on.
I honestly believe that new arrivals WILL happen but, of course, way too late with four games already having been played.
I do think that Silva should be more descriptive in his vocalising and tell us why things that he was promised have not materialised. Who is to blame and what reasons (excuses) have they given him for the appalling way this window has been conducted?
I’m happy to see Pereira go, finally, after threatening to do so almost since the day he first arrived. But it leaves us yet another player short.
I think there is something to the Raheem Sterling rumblings and Fulham’s wish to leave it until the last knockings in order to get the best possible deal.
But, if that does happen, it would be just one hole filled.
Even if, after, literally, months of talk, we do finally sign Reiss Nelson, how is he going to feel about coming to a club that, quite obviously, really didn’t fancy him for whatever reason?
I said at the time that the Kevin talk was just a smokescreen and him playing two hours in Shakhtar Donetsk’s European fixture definitely seems to confirm that. But, the eternal optimist in me still hopes to be proven wrong.
I’ve lost track of the others that we have been linked with as there have been so many.
But, Marco Silva, holds more power than he probably realises and, IMO, it’s not really good enough to say things are outside his control, on the one hand making it clear that he is absolved of blame yet, on the other, not going far enough to give us, the fans, a proper understanding of who IS the real culprit in this mess.
Bottom line, if we can grab something from the Chelsea fixture, just like happened at Brighton, the majority of fans will forget all about this window, focusing only on the euphoria of taking something from our bitter rivals.
The same will apply, if, magically, the club brings in two (dare I say three?) quality signings. All will be forgiven and forgotten.
I’m not among them. I can’t forget how, due to a total lack of recruitment back in January, what could, and should, have been the club’s best ever season, reaching a final at least, and finishing high enough in the league to qualify for European football, disintegrated before my very eyes and saw us limp home in 11th position, behind Forest, Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford.
When I watched Palace lift the cup, I felt physically sick, thinking that it should have been us.
We don’t need too much to make us a very good Premiership team but, under this hierarchy, it’s hard to see it happening.
It’s very disappointing for fans and it must be disillusioning for Marco. Every week we were linked to quality players but nothing has come of it . I don’t think Nelson or Sterling are necessarily good ideas but Kevin certainly is. It also seems like some current players are playing below their best abilities but sometimes the approach on the pitch is too methodical & slow
Personally I find the Khan approach to transfers appalling. He needs to be more decisive than this. I ask myself if he really wants real success at Fulham or is quite happy to just drift along. With this approach we’ll find ourselves relegated rather than in Europe. Very frustrating indeed.
Silva sounds very pxxxxd off I don’t blame him
Shahid Khan has always Fulham is the fans club it belongs to us
If that’s true tell us what’s been going on please iie transfers etc
The Riverside Stand was built to take this great club to another level and we have a manager of the calibre to do so and a team also but it’s probably Silva will go what a shame
What next for this great club
Like the comments previously it ruined my season to see Palace lift the FA Cup
Maybe it’s our year for the Cup?
Carabao or FA
As for signings be prepared for
Nil points On that
