Marco Silva admitted he ‘cannot understand’ how Manchester United’s goal in the 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage was allowed to stand.
The Portuguese head coach was almost laughing in the post-match press conference when he was asked for his reaction to the decision by referee Chris Kavanagh to allow Lenny Yoro’s header after the United defender had pushed Calvin Bassey at the back post.
“It is difficult to say something. I think what I saw, I don’t how many people are here, thirty, forty, fifty, you saw the same thing as myself. Everybody that watched on TV – there were millions and millions and millions for sure, all the world they saw what happened here this afternoon in terms of VAR decisions. I will not say nothing more. I don’t have the confidence to explain things that are impossible to explain. I think they did unbelievably well when they saw the penalty … that the foul on Rodrigo [Muniz] was at the same time, but the Calvin [Bassey] one was [the one they saw]. I think they were amazing and we have to congratulate them.”
The 6 minutes it took VAR to assess Bassey’s retaliation of Mount’s jumping at him was embarrassing enough but then to casually ignore Yoro’s two-handed push grounding Bassesy thus affording Yoro to head the ball uncontested is a double Pemier League embarrassment.
Kavanagh needs to look at himself I feel sorry for him because his darling Man Utd drew his red shirt under his Refs shirt stood out 100% this Manchester Referee who tries every dodgy trick in the book to gift them a goal is a disgrace to Football young kids were watching today and I was ashamed that a premier league Referee has to stoop that low he,also the Man Utd loving FA are to blame for appointing this dodgy Ref
When will the ruling bodies of the game of soccer realise that there is a simple way to avoid the ridiculous actions that happen at every corner kick.
Bring in a rule that forbids the attacking team to have any player inside the six yard box until the corner kick has been taken. A goalkeeper must be allowed some protection.
At the game allows any attacking player to stand in front or behind the goalie on the goal line is surely an obstruction.
Every match is ruined by players flaunting this stupid rule by deliberately impeding the goalkeeper. There are certain teams in the Premier League that benefit a lot by using these ‘cheating tactics’.

We all called it as soon as Kavanagh was named as the referee. He cost Fulham two points by not disallowing the ManU goal and did all he could to gift ManU all three points with the mad penalty decision. Absolutely shocking. All the more so because there will be zero post-mortem into his performance.
Watching from the beloved Hammy End yesterday it was clear that when given the incorrect penalty Fernandes wasnt sure if he was taking the kick or Kavanha was taking it himself.
I think because of that and he is a useless referee he should be kicked of the refs list. COYW.
